PARK CODE OF CONDUCT
Citrus Park Sports Association believes that the Ripken Experience refers to much more than a facility or the competition on the field. A primary goal of our organization is to provide a positive environment for all of those who play this game. As a coach, volunteer or parent within a youth sports organization, you have tremendous influence to shape the overall experience for your athletes. It is our expectation that you do so in a positive manner:
Expected behavior from Managers/Coaches/Asst. Coaches/Park Volunteers/Parents/Family Members:
- Absolutely no tobacco, alcohol, or drug use at CPSA complex.
- Always provide a safe environment for your players.
- Place the development of the player (mentally and physically) above winning.
- No profanity at any time.
- Honor the rules and play the game with the spirit of the rules in mind; don’t try to manipulate the rules in your favor.
- No arguing with opposing coaches, players, or supporters.
- Treat the umpires with respect and professional courtesy. Arguing with umpires is not acceptable behavior. Managers/Coaches: if you have questions about a call, calmly ask for timeout and discuss the situation quietly so that the fans and players cannot hear you.
- Be supportive of your players and your opponents. Congratulate all players for good plays, check on them if they are injured, and promote good sportsmanship at all times.
- Managers/Coaches: Control your parents, but do so in such a way as to not draw attention to their behavior. Calmly walk over to them and ask them politely to discontinue any inappropriate actions.
- Promote a positive attitude at all times. Display self-control, respect, and professionalism toward everyone involved in the game.
- Ensure that all team members respect the facility by removing all trash from thedugout and spectator areas after each game.
- Only managers, coaches and players are allowed in the dugout or on the field at any ntime.
Violators of the above guidelines can expect to face the following penalties:
- Verbal/Written warning.
