Coaches CornerUpdatedTuesday August 6, 2019 byCitrus Park Sports Association.
CPSA is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to manage or coach baseball and softball teams for children ages 4 - 18. Being a manager or coach requires time, patience, and basic knowledge of the game. You may be required to attend meetings or instructional sessions. You will communicate with the parents/guardians of your players to inform them of any schedule changes, rainouts, events and activities.
Your goal as a coach should be to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for players to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, you must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the athletes.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Anyone who wishes to volunteer must start by registering to volunteer online (the same process used to register players) There is no cost for volunteer registration. This registration is required EVERY SEASON of all volunteers for any position. Click here to register as a volunteer!

CPSA, Hillsborough County and Babe Ruth League, Inc. advocates for the careful selection of our league's volunteers, especially those who make a direct impact on our young players, such as our managers and coaches. CPSA is required to conduct background checks on all managers and coaches, as well as any other persons and volunteers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. These background checks are performed by an appointed member of the CPSA Executive Board through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). Once selected to manage or coach volunteers will need to complete the online form.
Per state law, if your background check is not cleared by the FDLE, you will not be able to coach or volunteer at the park.
APS Player Safety Training - Because of the Safe Sports Act volunteers are required to take abuse prevention training. Sports Engine is offering this separate from the background checks.
